My father has been a globally recognised author in the Indian Diaspora on the topics of Ramcharitnamas, a a 16th-century epic poem, considered one of the most important works of Hindu literature. He lead his life on the values of the main protagonist of this spiritually profound 7 chapter book. He was a VP of public Affairs at Pepsi Co and learnt to balance his work life and social contribution through lectures in several cities around the world. He built temples in India and Mauritius firstly through our family’s  own means, also harnessing the power of donors and across the world.  He was a man of great purpose, kindness and selflessness. He passed away in June of 2021 ailed by years of Parkison’s disease.

Ekta was the perfect wife. She gave me my most treasured gift, Aevah Aadya. Ekta was a resilient, relentless and indefatigable partner and mother. She was also my business partner, and together we started our entrepreneurial journey, while she raised the standards on Aevah Aadya on a daily basis. They were inseparable. She had incredible bandwidth to also manage our social affairs and our parents. Her proud education background ensured she was very community driven. She would spend hours in the community volunteering.   Ekta always believed in giving. She was the eldest daughter of a family of 4 and sharing was second nature to her. A truly selfless woman. She passed away giving birth to our son Aayansh on December of 2022 through a complication named Amniotic fluid embolism (AFE).

Aayansh was going to be my ticket to retirement. I had not seen my daughter grow up as I put all my time in our businesses. Ekta and I had hoped for a second child for years, and then in spring of 2022, we were blessed with a soon to be boy. We had started dreaming of our next phase of life and how we would be able to really enjoy parenthood together this time around. We had agreed that I would completely slow down and open a charitable organization to honor my father so I could truly be focussed with family and community, areas that had become opportune for me for my future growth. Alas, Aayansh only lasted 5 days after his mother, having suffered severe brain damage.
In 2024, I decided to keep up my promise to Ekta and planted the seeds of a foundation by giving away the personal wealth we had built together, creating an endowment. AREA (Aayansh, Raj, Ekta, Arun) was thereby founded in 2025.
